Beaches, fields and as well as the trees and flowers scattered in and around make me smile. People don’t really give you flowers anymore but in my younger days every bouquet or single flower I received I was compelled to paint or sketch. the wonderful organic shapes, the colours, the texture are all begging me to capture them… Their beauty is so short lived and all you left with is the memory in a painting … On saying that I also find older wilting flowers as exciting to capture as there are similar to the life of the elderly, full of character and personality. From the Caribbean beaches to gardens of Japan it all can be exciting to try and capture what nature and people together worked on.
